Summary
Almost 80 percent of women around the world and about 40 million in the US suffer from hormonal imbalance. 75 percent of all women in the US suffer from PMS. With the rising trends on clean eating and relying on food, not supplements, to heal the body--as well as social and political discussions on female reproductive rights and a woman's autonomy over her body--this book would speak well to the female population looking to gain body control and eat right. The phrase "hormone diet" is a popular diet that focuses on balancing hormones for both sexes to reduce weight, with a couple of books published on the subject. The Swedish edition sold 7,000 copies in a month. The author is a nurse practitioner in gynaecology and obstetrics who ran The Center for Hormonal and Nutritional Balance in California for seventeen years.
