Summary
On a chilly day in December, ten-year-old Thomas Moran's life turns upside down when his mother goes missing and her abandoned car is found at a nearby airport. Thomas's neighbour helps him cope with his anxiety by having him think up a fantasy about where she might have gone, putting her in a place where she will at least be warm. Although his father forbids this kind of 'magical thinking,' Thomas expands the story in secret and begins a narrative journey of his own. It sets in motion a path of healing, not just for Thomas, but eventually for his father and aunt as well.
