Summary |
With nine wins in the Bathurst endurance classic, there's no doubting why Peter Brock was - and still is - known as the 'King of the Mountain'. Paired with Jim Richards, he won the 1979 Bathurst classic by a record six laps in a show of absolute domination by the Holden Dealer Team and its V8-powered A9X Torana. Chevron has released this memorable race in full for the very first time with the entire nine-hour race day telecast included on this new release hosted by Aaron Noonan. It highlights the last time the famous Holden Torana challenged for victory in the Bathurst classic before the introduction of the record-breaking Commodore a year later. The cameras kept filming during the commercial breaks too, meaning this title includes a range of never-before-seen material from the '79 classic. It's a classic fight between Holden's horde of Toranas and Ford's Falcons led by the XC Hardtop of Allan Moffat in a golden era of racing on the Mountain. This is a must for Peter Brock, Holden, Bathurst and Australian motor racing fans in general. |
