The hunt for the Ark of the Covenant -- Dead Sea Scrolls.
Summary
The Hunt for the Ark of the Covenant : The Ark of the Covenant was the most revered object in the Old Testament. It was said to be terrifying beyond belief, consuming in fire those who looked upon it, destroying the Israelites? enemies in war, and assuring their conquest of the Holy Land. And then, in perhaps the greatest biblical riddle ever, the Ark of the Covenant simply vanished...and the scriptures never mentioned it again. Can modern scholarship tell us where the ark went? And can it explain the Ark?s awful powers? Join us on an epic scholarly journey from the labyrinth of tunnels under Jerusalem to the heights of Ethiopia, in search of the truth behind one of the most coveted artifacts of the Bible. Dead Sea Scrolls : In 1947, a Bedouin shepherd searching for a lost goat entered a long-forgotten cave in the Judean Desert. Inside, he made one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time: a cache of moldering texts, written on papyrus and animal hides. Soon the world would know them as the Dead Sea Scrolls. More than fifty years later, the scrolls are still a subject of intrigue and controversy.
