Summary Based on the Iconic 1961 Australian novel, this stunning two-part contemporary television adaption is an experience once seen, never forgotten. Daring , provocative and terrifying, Wake in Fright takes us to the remote outback where a young school teacher is trying to return to Sydney after a year teaching at a one classroom outpost. He becomes stranded in the isolated mining town of Bundanyabba after hitting a kangaroo with his car. Heading to the 'Yabba's' only pub to kill time, he meets the locals - and then wishes he hadn't. A nausea-inducing night of illegal gambling and heavy drinking soon turns into a desperate and depraved fight for survival. Trapped, taunted and broken by the horrifying events engulfing him, this is one man's descent into a barbaric nightmare from which there is no escape.
