Summary Mario is a newly appointed mailman who is madly in love with the most beautiful woman in town, Beatrice Russo. Bumbling, interminably shy and far too nervous to tell her how he feels, Mario becomes inspired when a world-famous Chilean poet visits the small island community. Pablo Neruda is a revelation to the otherwise introverted and soft spoken Mario, and with his expert help Mario not only finds the right words to woo Beatrice, but has a fighting chance to win her over.
