| Summary |
After graduating from Harvard, young lawyer Bryan Stevenson passes up lucrative jobs to defend those wrongly condemned in Alabama. Supported by local advocate Eva Ansley, he quickly picks up the incendiary case of Walter McMillian, a death-row inmate convicted of the notorious murder of an 18-year-old girl. Despite an uphill battle against bureaucracy and racism, Stevenson continues to fight for his clients in a system stacked against them. |
