| Summary |
In this story Jews suffer under Roman control during the time of Christ. When a Jewish prince is betrayed and sent into slavery by a Roman friend, he regains his freedom and comes back for revenge. |
| Heston's charismatic performance brought him the Best Actor Oscar. The winner of 1959's Best Picture, with the legendary William Wyler earning his third Best Director trophy, the film won a total 11 Academy Awards - a tally unequalled until 1997's Titanic set sail. |
