Summary |
Soundbreaking is an eight-part documentary series that traces the history of music recording. Featuring over one hundred original interviews with some of the most celebrated recording artists, producers, and music innovators of our time, the exclusive footage in the series will give viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the magic that happens inside a music studio. As technology has evolved over the past century, recording artists have pushed the limits of sonic experimentation, from The Beatles' use of multi-track technology in the 1960s to the synthesized sounds of Stevie Wonder, the disco-era drum machines to the modern art of sampling. Each episode in the series will focus on a different aspect of the recording process, highlighting hit songs that represent the very best of rock, R&B, hip hop and dance music and stories from the people who were in the room at the moment of creation. Soundbreaking will also explore the impact this music has had on our lives and our memories - how these unforgettable songs, iconic albums and visionary artists have moved us and connected us all in a shared human experience. |
