1972. The year of Whitlam and the grooves of funk, free education and immigration, Number 96 and the pill – and a whole lot more. Amidst the flurry of the Queen’s Birthday celebrations, Matron Frances Bolton is taking great pleasure in overseeing the opening of a new Obstetrics wing for Kings Cross General. A heavily pregnant Dr Joan Millar is already butting heads with the unorthodox new head of obstetrics, Dr. Andrew Patterson, a surf-loving ex-Vietnam vet, while three new Stanton House girls bring new drama to the world of Love Child. This series signals the shocking death of one our favourites, and puts Joan in the middle of a devastating cover-up that has her facing every new mother’s worst nightmare. |
